Places

Investing in our surroundings

Headquartered in the South West of England, we’ve formed close relationships with Universities, Colleges and Schools across the region, providing placements, tutoring and support to computer science students.

We offer internships and placement years to Plymouth, Exeter and Bristol University students, supporting them in their final year with a return to university bursary of £4,000 accompanied by a job offer; getting graduates into work and retaining talent in the region.

We also look to support local organisations and initiatives. In the last year, we’ve donated £10,000 of computer and office equipment to Plymouth’s Diversity Business Incubator (DBI) to support those from diverse backgrounds in starting their own business and sponsored a girls' U10 football team.

Planet

Helping to protect our future

Coreblue is PlanetMark certified and committed to supporting planet sustainability by implementing eco-friendly practices and reducing our carbon footprint.

As part of the PlanetMark certification, our commitments are:
  • To reduce carbon emissions by at least 2.5% each year; targeting 5%
  • To become Net Zero by 2050

All of our retired IT equipment is either refurbished and donated to local educational institutions or where this is not possible it is recycled.

Pledges

Playing our part

Our pledges are aligned with a number of UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) (which is a set of 17 aims created to pave the way for peace and prosperity for the planet).

Good Health and Wellbeing (SDG 3) We will support the emotional and physical wellbeing of our team. Examples include enhanced paternity leave and the provision of a comprehensive private health insurance scheme.

Gender Equality (SDG 5)
We take a proactive position regarding the gender pay gap by championing the STEM and Women in Tech agendas. We have confirmed this commitment
through signing up to the UK Government's Tech Talent Charter.

Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8)
We will invest in training and professional qualifications to support team members progress into more senior and high paying roles. We will also support the growth of the UK digital economy by delivering better citizen services and improving access to online services.

Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure (SDG 9)
We will support our clients through impact-driven technology solutions, which positively benefit society and the local economy whilst increasing the capacity of the UK to be a the forefront of the digital economy.

Reduced Inequalities (SDG 10)
We will seek to level the playing field, including by educating young people about digital careers and mentoring job seekers from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Climate Action (SDG 13)
We will help to protect our planet through a carbon negative programme. One small example is our commitment to donating or recycling 100% of our retired IT equipment.
We commit to reduce emissions by at least 2.5% per year and target a 5% per year reduction, being Net Zero by 2050.
