Improving financial literacy and decision making

Under an NDA, a financial technology start-up engaged Coreblue to develop a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) with a structured approach to technical discovery and implementation. The project encompassed UI/UX design, mobile application development using Flutter, backend API development in Laravel, and the integration of third-party services such as TrueLayer for open banking and Firebase for messaging.

The product, already nominated for an industry award, is now in the hands of Beta users and investors with future feature expansions including stock purchasing and income analysis already in the development pipeline.

The client, a seed funded fintech, is focused on providing tools for financial decision-making related to spending and investments. 

The client required a technology partner to support the entire product lifecycle from technical discovery, through to development and ongoing support. We worked with a short timeline to ensure the product got into the hands of Beta users and investors quickly, and made the deadline for industry award submissions. 

Coreblue adopted an agile framework, integrating iterative development cycles with regular stakeholder engagement. Key implementation steps included:

• In-depth technical “spikes” to explore and mitigate potential risks related to architecture, performance, and security.
• Developing a cross-platform mobile application using Flutter for Android and iOS.
• Implementing a scalable REST API backend using Laravel, with a Nova-based admin portal for managing system data.
• Development of a comprehensive roadmap, categorising tasks into phased deliverables and milestones.

• The MVP has now launched to Beta users and investors. 
• The application has awards nominations for in financial innovation and technical excellence categories, generating valuable PR for the founding team.
